And it's not like Castillo wasn't known to be one of the worst pitch framers in MLB when they signed him. I'm not sure what they were thinking. If that's true, I think last year was an anomaly, not his performance this year. Because he's historically been known as terrible at pitching framing. 2014 article while on the Cubs: look no further than BP’s projections on pitch-framing for 2014. According to the model, Castillo projects to be the worst framing catcher in all of baseball next year.
