Hopefully he's "on to" that it is in fact a good sign for free agency and we have much more action earlier rather than something like last year's debacle. The class of FAs is better this year no doubt, but last off-season was relatively "meh" IMO. Also, apparently the Phillies are looking into SP help. They're the Yankees, they could up their payroll by $100 million this year and they might even still stay under the tax, but we know they'll pay the tax to win.
