CWS sign RHP Mac Welsh who pitched in one college game. Hilarious. Maybe he won a bottle cap contest?

I'm guessing it's someone who has really taken to a data-driven approach to pitching and has worked with some cutting edge programs. There is a story about a 38 year old who hasnt pitched in 10 years getting his arm up to 98 MPH through all the new approaches to science based pitching.

Either another Disney movie or he’s really good at water polo?

And we share the same birthday and an affinity for The Sandlot, lol.  Went to Louisville, got into one game his senior year.

Majoring in mechanical engineering... After college, he wants to work in space exploration... Interesting the Reds are trying to extend Gray. Don't see these kind if deals often.

Guess their pitching coach/staff sees something the Yankees don't/didn't...or it's all predicated on getting him out of NY and giving him a fresh start and confidence with an extension behind him.

You think they would have learned with Homer Bailey, but maybe not.

Their pitching coach was Gray's pitching coach in college.

This goes back to the question I just recently asked, but if pure free agents are this cheap, you have to think that this is going to hit trade values for similar players on the trade market.  If you can get Markakis for $6 million dollars, or trade for Pederson with an eight figure annual hit, that has to hit his trade value.

If nothing else, it makes me thankful that RH and the Sox decided to start their rebuild a couple of years back and not trying to sell right now.  An argument could well be made that the Quintana trade was the absolute top of the mountain in trade value with what has happened since then.
