He's basically Schwarber without the walks. Let's not turn him into the South Side version of Micah Hoffpauir, please. He's 27 and had an ok year on a 100 loss team, Add Manny, Pederson, and Eloy to what they already have and that is suddenly pretty good. The bullpen is much improved as well. The rotation is iffy, but adding a vet like Gonzalez would be nice. Rodon/Lopez/Gonzalez/Nova/Giolito isn't great, but it's not awful either. That group should at least give them a chance to compete in a poor division next year. Makes Herrera seem like a big overpay. Yah, was just coming here to say that exact thing. Herrera is 3-4 years younger than Brach and has quite a bit more upside, but yah...
