In my mind the most likely team to sign Harper also along with the Phillies.

I would be surprised if the Cards put out that much money to get Harper.

First M's domino to fall. Zunino to Rays for Mallex Smith. Weird trade, but its Dipoto.

Yeah very odd, but like you said, it's Dipoto.

Seems like Gordon is going back to 2B and Cano moves into a 1B/DH role.

I'd've given up Narvaez and Engel to get Mallex Smith, and that's a better package than what the Rays got IMO.

Maybe they wanted Zunino because he is a really good backstop.  Top 1-7 in many defensive categories and pitchers do better with him back there, For a young staff Zunino is a great catcher, Can't hit a lick though.

Yasmani Grandal expected not to accept QO, and Doders to be looking elsewhere. Per Twitterverse.

He'd be a pretty big upgrade, imo.  That said, i recognize the loss of a pick and the fact that he had a very rough post-season.

Not only a loss of pick, but catcher isn't really the position the sox should be spending big dollars.  They already have 2 major league catchers on the roster, and another two interesting prospects that are pretty close.  Much bigger holes to fill.

I really liked Ryu as an under the radar option for the Sox. OH well.
