9 Mill for 1 Year for Brian Dozier? What a steal.

Definitely.  This is one of the drawbacks of this Machado process taking so long.  Perhaps the Sox plan is to just roll with internal option if they fail to sign MM, and I won't fault them for that.  But with bolstering the pen to the extent they have and the secondary pieces that have been added, grabbing a guy like Dozier for 1 year / $9M and plugging him in at 3B (or more likely 2B, and moving Moncada to 3B for Madrigal in the future), made a ton of sense IMO.

This is insanity.

He should be Todd Frazier's hitting coach

And the Sox wouldn't have to forfeit a draft pick to sign him next offseason either. This is perfect.

Gave up 4 years for $60 mil and signs one year for $18.25M. Hmmm.  I do like to see him land with the Brewers.

We'll see if he can do better than 3/$41.75m next year.

Wanted him to go to the Brewers.

They have Cano at 2B and Frazier at 3B. One of them is playing 1B or Frazier is getting traded.

After the season Frazier had I wouldn't bet on him being everyday.  It gives them a lot of options though.  Especially if Pete Alonso struggles in the show.

He'll hit .240 with 30 homeruns and still not reach 1 fWAR.

Agreed.  He should go play in Korea or Japan.

And what if he pitches 30 innings with a 4.50 ERA out of the pen?

He'd be much more valuable in the national league where the pitchers spot has to hit. If the pitchers' spot is up in an inning and you can buy a couple outs with him on the mound against a righty or two, or you pinch hit him in the pitchers spot when there's a righty leading off the next inning - you extend your roster and get extra platoon advantage with both the pitcher and the hitter.
