Usually in game threads, the sentiment is always that a sox player failed vs the other players being great (I do this too! not an insult). For a few players, that's not the case. Beltre was a player you watched and couldn't help but be in awe of. And what a career too. For a while it seemed like he was severely underachieving after that amazing year with the dodgers. But looking back at it, his numbers weren't bad. Crazy how he only signed a 5-year deal (worth $68m) coming off his monster age 25 season in free agency. Always fun to watch, although being at the Trop in 2011 when he hit three solo home runs in a 4-3 series clinching win in the ALDS wasn’t fun at the time.
