Pal, you are losing your mind. How are they in the bottom five?

Padres

Twins

A's

Rays

Marlins

Reds

Royals

There are more, imo, but you can't argue that any of those teams are better for a player to go to.

Definitely bottom 5?

Pirates

Tigers (post free spending Ilitch)

Jays are arguable...depends on vlad jr. and bichette

One other way to create happy employees is for the employees to have no fear for their 6 and 7 figure jobs even if they're really bad at them.

The vast majority of the employees have no bearing on the wins and loses and don't have 6 or 7 figure jobs.

The flip side is I would assume the Bulls do not have this while having similarly safe management.

I will agree that the person operating the scoreboard has had very little to do with this franchise having the worst record in baseball over the last 6 years so there's probably very little reason to judge that person's work based on the team's performance.

All bigger markets than the Sox. We don't know the numbers for sure, but I believe their market to be 25-30% of greater Chicago, which would put them in the bottom 5 in baseball, smaller than the Twins and slightly larger than the Royals.

Math: 30% of Chicago metro is 2.85M. KC metro is 2.1, Twin Cities is 3.2, Cleveland is 2.1. Cincinnati is 2.1 by itself, if you include Louisville add around 900k.

So if a player signs with the Sox, do they only get to enjoy the Southside and south suburbs? Do they not get to hang out downtown, River West, or up north? Do they not get the marketing opportunities Chicago offers? Do they not get that world class city feel? Can they not go to North Avenue Beach and enjoy the sun and women? Will they not get covered by the Tribune and Sun Times? Will they not get talked about on 670 or ESPN 1000?

Lastly, do these players interact with every fan in the market? Or is it just the 35k fans at the game and the individuals they meet in public?

Or 8 figure...

Also the ownership stakes for NBC Universal weren't announced, but hard to believe it would be anything but 25% across the board to all four entities.  50% White Sox/Bulls, but not controlling interest to make decisions that aren't beneficial to the Hawks or corporate parent.

Along with the tickets reps, administrative assistants, ground crew, among others, except the department heads they probably make 6 figures.

Loyal employers generally create  a great working environment.

Do you think changing mangers and front office people on a regular basis will lead to a successful team? Look at the successful teams in any professional sports and they typically have continuity in management.

When the Sox start winning it will be 35k.

They've averaged that TWICE since 1901.

What were the averages after they won the World Series? Notice how in 2007, a shitty year, they averaged 33k? Sustained winning outlook will draw fans. The 90s would have but the strike hurt them.

Manny looks THRILLED,to be in a Sox uniform.

Well, he's not one of these guys who shows he's happy just to show it to people. He's happy on the inside. He doesn't need to show it.

He's back...

Machado to the Sox is happening in the next 96 hours...book it.  This is exactly what we needed to go full circle and finally get over the finish line.

91 and 06 were the only years they went over 35k.  I was mostly kidding with my initial comment though, it's attainable.  2.5 to 3 million is the goal.

I feel like going back to sleep and having someone wake me when it happens. Whatever happened to good old fashioned rumors? My head is spinning!

I feel like Manny Machado is a concoction of our collective imaginations, created entirely to make us think we finally have a shot at a top FA. If Machado is so real, why isn't there real news about other teams besides althe harmless San Diego Padres being actually interested??? Only this fake news created be us. We created the Padres distraction to make it seem real but not threatening. Us White Sox fans, other fans can only look the other way and allow us to feed into this imaginative world. They just feel sorry for us.

We've created insider personalities to feed into our imaginative world. raBBit, WSD, bucket, shack etc are all figments of our imaginations manifested by overly zealous people and "confirmed " by us to make us continue believing this world is real.

Dan Clark, another figment. Created by us and subsequently destroyed by us. Hector Gomez, created by us.

Ok, I'm done now. I need some sleep.

I think the fans are as excited as they've ever been. We know we have 7 years of good times coming. I think starting next year we will get to 30k and average 30k to 35k over the next 5 years after. The Sox just have to keep fans engaged and do their part. They also need to build that community up some to give fans a reason to be at the park longer on game days. They've started doing it, but more needs to be done.
