Teams that are in on 8 yr, 300mm commitments don't change their mind based on a oft-injured 34 year old SS who signs for minimum salaries. Their ultimate end game has always been to sign Machado and flip Andujar for a front line starter. There aren't any more "game changing" top line starters available after they struck out on Corbin, so now they will buy a TOR starter by signing Machado and trading Andujar. Harper would sign with the Dodgers or Yankees, but I don't feel the offers will be lucrative in the end for him.
