It might be short sighted as far as his control goes, but we could potentially contend in this weak division, and two weeks of less production from LF might be a difference maker. That team still isn't competitive without big steps forwards by multiple youngsters who struggled last year...but anyway... The Cubs, with a much better roster, still held Bryant down in 2015. Another completely non-baseball reason it won't happen: if we wait to bring him up then there will be a random game in April with increased attendance (potentially a sell out?) that would otherwise be pretty empty while the home opener will likely have a high attendance no matter what. I have no knowledge of the financials for the Dodgers, but I'd imagine that they'd bundle up a pricey Rich Hill with Pederson for a salary dump to make room for Pollock (consider the pollock rumors yesterday).
