They were the fifth ranked special teams unit by football insiders (using their advanced dvoa metric). Fifth. That is using advanced analytics, etc. That would include penalties, etc. Yes Piniero has missed some kicks but the core part of this unit has been very good. Again, coaching is a huge issue with this offense. Has its marks all over the field week in and week out. Still 95 yard drive is still a positive! Look at the amount of disruption out of the line (you see the pushes the opposing defenses regularly get?). Also the scheme/design of runs and predictability of play calling.
