And it's the General Manager's job to work with ownership on that one. Ownership never wants to spend. Rick Hahn's job is to make ownership understand why this is the right move even if it's money they don't want to spend.

One example of that behavior - AJ Preller. Because it's literally exactly what he did. To the letter. A better general manager did not let his owner tell him no to a player he needed, that's why he's a better general manager.

Convincing Jerry Reinsdorf to spend 300 million on one player is like trying to convince Donald Trump that the NY Times is the best news source on the planet.

He sounded like Paxson did with Parkins except Holmes didn't get in his face.  Cliche bullshit responses.  Especially enjoyed when he said the league knows they're on the brink of something special.  Do they?

My question for him would've been "how fucked would you be right now if you hadn't fleeced Theo?"

I wish Holmes would have asked him:

"If you couldn't go to $300M for Machado, who can you go there for? Without naming anyone, does that player exist?"

The fact is, if they won't go there for Machado, they won't for anyone. Machado and Harper are about the ONLY players that ARE ACTUALLY WORTH IT HAHN!!!!!!!!

The White Sox are just great at PR. That interview sounded awesome and the White Sox twitter account seems like it's completely oblivious 🤣

What are they supposed to post? Photoshop of Manny Machado fucking Kenny? They need to move on with their business.

Don't post anything for 2 days or so. If you look at the replies, people are just hurling insults at the FO and Jerry Reinsdorf anyway. To post spring training fluff is just tone deaf. 🤷‍♂️

This point being made is paramount... without Cease and Jimenez they are in a dark, dark place.

They’re in a dark dark place if he doesn’t go nuclear and Yoán doesn’t turn into a 4-5 win player like...right now

I expect neither of these things to happen because they've shown their incompetence repeatedly. There is zero reason to trust  their player evaluation abilities.  None whatsoever.

There's that, too.

It's also entirely possible that Lopez turns out to be the reliever all the experts thought him to be... and the Eaton trade becomes a disaster too.

Yoan HAS to turn the corner... Eloy has to become a world beater and Cease has to be a staff ace.

All of these things HAVE TO happen now.

No they dont. If you truly think this then manny machado wasnt worth signing. If you think the white Sox are in a world of hurt going forward, manny machado was never going to save that.

Hahn said they wouldn't pay that price for Machado, AND that they didn't know the offer. He is lying.

Also, if opt outs aren't a problem, then why hasn't Hahn stated they offered one here? He could have shut everyone up by saying "we offered the opt out".

A bunch of spin and BS.

Hopefully they gave Alonso an opt-out so he can move to SD.
