Look at Ray Ray Run

Rick Hahn and his Trades

Not really the type of guy contenders are looking for. In all likelihood he wouldn't make a playoff roster. Sure he's had a great run lately but he's also capable of badness. Overall just mediocre/average. But his innings pitched and health has really been valuable to the Sox this year in that he's been the glue that prevented the staff from being a bigger nightmare than it was.

It also would have been the equivalent of 2016 June/July James Shields if you were actually trying to compete...the second half recovery would be too late.

All things considered, it worked out okay for the Sox...mostly in preventing a nightmare list of even more unqualified journeymen starters from taking the mound, above and beyond the names we already threw out there.

Nova appears to have turned it around. Might as well keep him around next year to see if he's dominant with the Sox after adjusting one season. That's a nice job last night by Nova.

I was one who couldn't stand his slow afraid to throw the ball pitching.  He has turned it around with a faster pace (I didn't say fast) and his in-charge manner.  I actually like when he's pitching now.  Gives us a chance to win.  It's good to be wrong when it means a player is better than you thought.

The Sox have done well trading for other teams' prospects.
The Sox have done well in the international market, when they've tried.
The Sox have not done well evaluating U.S. amateur talent.
The Sox have seen significant leakage in evaluating their own prospects.
The Sox have been terrible in evaluating major league veterans.

And who ever believes that crap....

They'll call security on his next GM job interview if he rolls that lame excuse out.

Hahn needs to own up.

That was a generational blunder that was made even worse by all the millions wasted.

He was unqualified for that position when it was offered and he still is.

Eloy and Cease were expendable.

Kopech was TJS in waiting.

The Nats were tired of the Gio-Lopez tease.

These GMs knew what they were giving up.

Moncada was supposedly the best prospect in baseball at the time yet Dombrowski bristled at the idea of giving up Devers in that Sale trade.

...this is a really nice summary, GS!
