Why is Collins on this roster if he is going to play once every 7 days?

They need a backup catcher and they already saw enough of Zavala. If Castillo wasn't injured he'd be starting more. Palka or Collins  will go down when Beef returns.

I don't mind the bunt there since it worked.

I will say unlike the previous years we actually have guys that can get a bunt down.  That's refreshing.  if you're going to bunt so fucking much at least have guys that can execute it.

still, you play for one run...you'll score one run.

Doubleheader, but point taken. He should play more.

I honestly thought he would've been catching Cease today since he knows him as a catcher. Was shocked to see McCann catching him. Not complaining though.

They had to know a squeeze was coming. Is there any way to defend that if the bunt gets down?

Catcher would have to stay home so as long as the bunt is far enough away from the pitcher its a run?

1) you gotta hold the guy on 3rd

2) you gotta have some sort of IF play to counter it ready.  Usually hard charging 1B or pitcher.

Detroit didn't seem to do any of that.

Cordell stabbed at that first pitch.  Much better job catching the ball with his bat on the 2nd one.  And nice hustle down the line by the way...pay attention Jay you bum!!

Detroit announcers quite impressed by the expert execution of the squeeze bunt.

Eloy seems fairly fast in a straight line and appears to be a good baserunner.  Has the agility of a baby giraffe in LF however.

I love it...La Jirafa
