I guess the "momentum" towards being competitive was just dumb luck?

I agree with you...we contend next year.

I really don't think so.

I thought about how irritating this team has been since the all star break and then I realized...

Out of our 40 man roster we have TWO proven players.

Jose Abreu

Alex Colome

The rest are pure scrub mixed in with a few of our young hopeful talent for the future (Moncada, Anderson, Gio),

Lol. Go look at your comments in the Machado thread. You wrote the definition on homerism in that one.

Also, I love the Hawkeroo. I can see my Hawk Solo bobblehead on the shelf as I type this. Thanks for the comparison.

Lol...you’re reading comprehension is a little off here as I wasn’t comparing you to Hawk.  But you’re right about one thing, I try to be an optimist as long as I’m also being objective.  The Machado miss has taught me to reassess some things (which can be seen in my recent comment about Cole), but that doesn’t mean we should all go full Chicken Little like you have and be completely irrational.

Just block him.  He adds nothing that is worth responding to.

I'm beginning to believe that he might be a new Tom Longo account. Just the same relentless complaining/trolling in every thread, ad nauseam. I blocked him too but so many people quote him, there's no escape

I think many things have to go right for the White Sox to contend next year.  At this point, I don't see it.  The first half was no fluke; the team progressed. It's just that the team has so far to go and they have overcome injuries.  I don't anticipate a winning 2020 campaign, because young talent will still need time to develop.

When the whole team is up and healthy they will have a boat load of speed and power to go with excellent starting pitching.  Undoubtedly some growing pains as well.  Not going to have a lot of boring games.  Amen.

Don't forget also it looks like we'll have to replace Jose's bat. No matter what anybody says losing he and Avi in successive years and not replacing them ably is not a recipe for a winning team. Just the fact Boston wants Jose should tell you he's valuable. Vaughn? OK, maybe. We shall see if he's a fine slugger. It's good Lopez had a good night tonight. He's not dead so to speak, yet.

I think you mean Sanchez.

Robert, Madrigal and Vaughn will be studs.   But It always comes down to the pitching, in the end.   That’s the biggest question mark.
