I didn't see it mentioned but there is a Fegan article in the Athletic from 8/25 that is real good on Kannapolis guys.  A lot of good info.  Don't want to paste but delved into the younger prospects and reclamations like Varnell and Lindgren.

It was very good. Feel like it may have been in main forum. His takeaway on Sosa and Bush was how I feel. Overall numbers may get you down, but they are 19 in a tough league, and battled back for some really nice stretches again and again. They are getting used to adjusting through a long season. Excited for them to keep learning.

Gavin Sheets has certainly turned it around at AA. In his last 75 games 314 PA, (not including tonight) he's at .298/.376/.502, .878 OPS, 155 wRC+, .322 BABIP, 13 HR, 15 2B, 33 BB, 51 K, 10.5% BB%, 16.2% K%.

Also, Collins since demotion (not including tonight): 32 G, 136 PA, .351/.456/.685, 1.141 OPS, 185 wRC+, .370 BABIP, 9 HR, 10 2B, 31 RBI, 22 R, 21 BB (15.4%), 21 K (16.9%). Love the K rate going down, down, down.

Our A+ pitching coach is probably the best in the system.

Fegan's articles mentioning him have me hoping he replaces Coop after this season. It seems a bit dysfunctional the Sox don't have a pitching coach using the same techniques at each level of the organization.

One of the main reasons why I want Farquhar either as a pitching coach in one of the affiliates or some kind of pitching instructor himself.

It really seems bizarre.

I agree.  But I don’t feel like we have enough information to know.  I mean we’re all just using common sense and we’re all baseball idiots.  I like to think the Sox have real baseball people doing smart basebally stuff we cannot even fathom.
