Hadn't heard this rumor before but mlb.com hints at the return of The Shark in #9 on this list.

They also mention us a possible landing spot for Corey Seager which I don't see as Tim seems to be a fixture at shortstop.

Man, Seager would be outstanding.

Not sure of specifics but supposedly Jeff blamed a lot of his struggles here on Cooper trying to tweak things

As a player you are in charge of your own destiny. You can makes changes based on something a coach suggests but if you feel it's not working for you then tell the coach and go back to what makes you comfortable. Shouldn't be any fallout from that.

Agreed.  If you're a professional, it shouldn't matter.  Although one would think if Coop had issue with the whole thing, they wouldn't entertain such a move.

~$18MM for a geezing geezer whose xFIP in a cavernous NL park was >5?

Holy fucking shit, is this rumor stupid.

Now, IF SFG were to pick up $12MM of his one remaining season, and take a crappy low-level token like Korey Zangari in trade, fine.

Is Shark any worse than Nova last year?  Probably a little better.  Not for $18 Large, of course.

Obviously Timmy would no longer be a fixture a SS.  He would part of the deal to get him.

While it could be a defensive improvement,  we know Anderson can hit AL pitching, not so sure how long it would take for the other guy.  The Sox have a poor history of veteran NL talent working out for them.  Shark is just another example.

There are numerous 4th/5th starters that they could sign before having to trade for Jeff Samardzija.

Sox have a SS; why in the world trade for 2 year Seager and use their only 2B prospect to do so.

Trading for short term veterans put the Sox in this mess to begin with.  Please don't repeat the failed practices.

I agree, but I also think it couldn't hurt to dangle Madrigal and see what's out there for RF options.  If we can get a controllable young stud, might not be a bad idea.

I hate when some of you talk dangling Madrigal.  He is going to be very good.
