That's just not how things work though. When a guy on a 40 man is officially DFA, it is nationally reported. Not saying all the major guys report every DFA, but it at least gets put on MLBTR. Well, I guess for those who have enough time on their hands to go through individual player's Twitter and Instagram feeds, it's always possible to get the news before it's officially reported...or at least speculate on cryptic posts.
