Tatis Jr. and Semien...And Escobar

They both took a very surprising turn though.

Tatis was a prospect but he was ranked like 25th in his international class, nobody saw this coming that his tools took such a step forward.

And semien was about an average hitter who had a terrible glove. I doubt he would have developed that way with the sox.

The FO job is to see potential; plus, who they traded them FOR made little sense so there was little to be gained anyway.  Too many excuses for this, heretofore, unproductive FO.

They didn't punt the 2019 draft to do it at all. That's not factual. They took James Beard in round 4. They also added: Chase Krogman, Logan Glass, DJ Gladney, Misael Gonzalez and Victor Torres as prep talents on day 3. Some high upside college relievers like McKinley Moore and Caleb Freeman. That is absolutely not punting.

They did this year but they got two top 20 players in a 5 round draft.

Yeah, the 2019 draft was a very daring draft, with a decent amount of upside late.  2018 was similar though not as much early.

They did a pretty good job of seeing potential in the Sale, Eaton, and Quintana trades. No doubt they have a mixed record on deals, but it's just being a hater to say they haven't been productive

CUE BALTA in 3, 2, 1....I think he's probably quite sick of arguing the counterpoints here.

White Sox: Jared Kelley, RHP (No. 6)
Rated the 2020 Draft's best prep pitcher entering the year, Kelley unexpectedly lasted until the second round and signed with the White Sox for $3 million as the 47th overall selection. He works with a 93-96 mph fastball and tops out at 98 with little effort in his delivery, and he also has an advanced changeup for a teenager and the confidence to throw it in any count
