I just looked over the schedule and there's a lot of Pirates, Tigers, and Royals on it. Basically, the Sox have to beat out 2 of 3 of Baltimore, Toronto, and Texas. If they can’t do that, they don’t deserve the playoffs anyways. Still has work to do long term, especially the shaky d, but when they have abs like they did in that first inning, where they just grinder to get their pitches and work the pitchers...just fun. and Lucas...dirty!!! The sox still struggle against good teams and have trouble scoring against good pitchers with plus stuff but they are doing a good job beating the teams they should beat. Beating up on bad teams should be expected. When the competition gets tougher that's when winning on the margins -- something the manager is involved in -- will become critical.
