Nice seeing the A team lineup in again. Really hope we get good Moncada now after some rest spots. I still think Grandal should be hitting 5th, but otherwise this lineup should be pretty close to the playoff setup.

Honestly, I like Grandal batting in front of Jose.  I think Yasmani taking all those pitches (currently 4th in the AL in pitches per PA) is really helping.

Yeah, I would break up the left handed bats (when a righty is on the mound). I don’t think the batting order means much, but I’d probably set it up this way:

  1. Anderson
  2. Moncada
  3. Abreu
  4. Eloy
  5. Grandal
  6. Robert
  7. EE
  8. Mazara
  9. Madrigal

The Tigers offense blows.  Lets see if Reynaldo can get anything over the plate today or if he's at like 60 pitches with 2 out in the 2nd.  This should really be make or break for him now.  A bad start here and he's a clear-cut RP the rest of the year and there's a high likelihood that today is his last start in a Sox uniform.

Against Giolito, the Tigers seemingly had a a game plan to take a lot of pitches  rather than being aggressive at the plate. Giolito was lucky to have lasted as long as he did since he did not have his usual control.

Today, it will be interesting to see the Tigers strategy and how ReyLo/Grandal try to counter it.  If they decide to be patient at the plate and ReytLo can't  throw strikes, that will obviously be problematic. On the other hand if ReyLo/Grandal try too hard to throw strikes early in the count, the Tigers may go to wailing on ReyLo's fast ball.

In any case, ReyLo needs some calls on the corners . especially on his high fastball. If ReytLo  doesn't get high strikes called, he could start bringing it down where it could  be zoned in on and blasted.

Just saw Fulmer's ERA and thought "sweet...this guy sucks!". Then I saw Reylo's. 🤦‍♂ Should be a pitcher's duel. Strap it down, boys!!

There's a whole lot of suck in those stats!!

WOW.  Those numbers are gross both ways.  Lets hope the Sox offense can cover for what ReyLo gives up...

Lopez and bullpen day back to back? We are going to need the offense to show up

Yeah and then a starter to have a looong start asap because this bullpen is about to get wrecked. Maybe Gonzalez, Flores and Foster can give them 6 tomorrow total

Hoping for a Sox win, but continued Parrot suckage, so that it is clear to everyone on the planet including Rick Hahn that he shall not return, either at $12M or a lesser amount. Also holding out hope for a possibility of a phantom IL stint and Vaughn call-up.

Also agree today was the best day for a Robert day off, let Engel get a start already. Engel should be starting more in RF as well.

I don’t understand why people want Robert sitting when he had 2 off days this week already and he is facing a pitcher he can get back on track with? He isn’t a platoon player and having Engel out there for anyone it should be Mazara

Yeah that's what I'm implying- Luis Robert is a platoon player. GMAFB. He could've gotten back on track vs either of the 2 crappy Pirates pitchers too, and he didn't. He just looks a tad off. Having a day off and a day off where you can watch the game with players and coaches are not the same. He looks lost at the plate right now.

He looked lost at the plate yesterday, and needs to play all four against the Piranhas.

For the better part of the last 2-3 weeks he has looked lost. He has 12 strikeouts and a .160 average (<.600 OPS) over his last 7 games.
