I think its just a nicer way of saying he was fired personally. That's it.

Haven't we all "agreed to part ways" with at least someone in our lifetime?

lol I've actually had a break up that was mutual. It was the best breakup of all time. Neither one of us was bitter towards the other or upset. Too bad they all can't go that way.

lol.

No comment on your desire to constantly defend Ricky....when clearly even this FO had lost total faith?

I never constantly felt the need to defend anyone. He managed game 3 badly and is paying the price.

Ricky being fired is fine. He wasn't the reason the sox didn't win, and he did a nice job with the young guys, but the sox didn't think he gave them the best chance to win in the big spot. they would know that better than anyone given that they know the directives he was given.

The insinuation that because I hold the players at majority fault 99.9% for failures means I endlessly supported renteria is nonsense. This boards never ending negativity in game threads wasnt rational or reasonable because he got fired. It was still overreactive nonsense where people blamed the manager for damn near 50% of the losses.

Also, because no one has said it:

Live by the Cordero, die by the Cordero.

That's true. Jimmy Cordero just saw his 2021 appearances cut in half if he is even on the team.

Re: Jirschele

I find it hard to imagine that they're going to hire a guy younger than their three highest paid players.

Honestly, my guess is Hinch is the favorite right now, and the Sox are giving the nugget to Bob to float it to the fans, gage response.

Aside from the cheating, there was bad blood between Hinch/his family and the Sox from when they drafted him as an amateur.  Generally, JR holds a grudge.  I'd be surprised if it was Hinch.

Cooper has to go too, right?

They're leaving it up to the hiree it sounds like, so, yeah I would say he's toast.

If Cooper goes, I imagine it's Jirschele/Zaleski.

If Cooper stays, I think a vet coach comes in.

i took the opposite of that. he's being "retired" into an advisor.

That was my prediction. Like, Pitching Coach Emeritus.

Wonder what that would be? Some new title like Director of Pitching Development or something like that?

Ultimately don't think it matters who they bring in unless they figure out the pitching situation.
