Jose Abreu is Sporting News Player of the Year

Recommended Posts

One of the true surprises of the 2020 season was Jose's fine season.  Well deserved award.

I think this award means something since the players themselves make the votes.

Congrats Jose, even though 2020 ended in frustration, this was a fun season led by Jose & TA.

Very nice  but I would have rather had a few more hits against the A's as I am sure he would prefer too.

Frankly I knew we'd lose the A's series cause they had, what, 3-4 former Sox contributing?

Hey It was a very nice award but Jose himself would tell you that he'd trade it in to have won that series. I'm far from an Abreu basher even when most of the board was bashing him and his resigning as a free agent. People often say Keuchel and Grandal were good signings and EE , Gonzales and Cishek weren't., but they forget we signed Jose as a free agent and despite the griping about the length and money he got you'd have to put it in the win column for now.
