What proof has Trump given for 2020?

Thats what I would like to know. He is bragging about his votes and they were tallied the same way Biden were tallied. Of course when he lost the Iowa primary in 2016 he said the tally was wrong. Ted Cruz cheated and everything needed to be re done. But why is it he is so great, yet the thousands and even millions, as he claimed if it wasn't for fraudulent  votes he won the popular vote in 2016 as well, all are against him. Every single one?  How is the republican gain in the house legit with all this fraud? Why is he waiting on showing anyone proof?

I saw a sticker on a car that said

Trump 2020 Make Liberals Cry Again

I'm wondering if part of his appeal is having "your guy" so hated by the other team.  Policy wise he wasn't that crazy *based on conservative ideals*.  What set him apart, and drove most of us crazy, was the rhetoric that we found so offensive.  It's not on the same level but there were plenty of Bulls fans cheering a Rodman rebound that booed him pretty hard when he was wearing a Piston's Jersey.

He's a dangerous adversary and I hope he finds an outlet away from running again.  I made the mistake of wishing he'd get the nomination four years ago.

A family who lives down the road had Trump 2020 painted on their garage and after the election, painted over it although you can still see it if you look closely.

A neighbor that lives across the street had all republican signs up (Rick Laib, Lori Hois, vote against the Illinois Fair Tax Amendment and Trump Pence) and then took them down. After Biden won, he put the Trump Pence sign back out there. He has a family with college kids and I am not sure what he and his wife do for work and I don’t have a rapport with him. But I would love to know his reason for keeping the sign up and how long it will stay up.

There was a bar/restaurant in the town next to me that had Trump banners all over the front.  After the election, the banners went down. At least one Trump supporter is facing reality.

WRT the bolded, you're exactly correct. One side of the aisle views politics as spectator sports, with "their team" winning or losing being more important than issues of policy.

WRT the underlined, i disagree. Or, at least, I hope to disagree. That is, I hope that so-called conservatives don't want:

1. Children separated from parents,

2. Us as a nation to abandon our allies,

3. Us as a nation to "believe Russia" ahead of our OWN security/intelligence officials,

4. Expanding budget deficits, rather than "pay-as-you-go,"

5. Banning certain countries' nationals from entering our country,

6. Presidents breaking emoluments clauses, and self-dealing,

7. Presidents using their office to enrich themselves and their family members,

8. Us as a nation retreating from globalization and leadership on the international stage,

9. Presidents giving dictators/strongmen like Kim/N Korea, Ergodan/Turkey and others credibility,

10. Presidents calling our nations honored dead "suckers and losers,"

And many, many anti-American and anti-conservative actions by this President. But, so-called "conservative" media outlets cheer this sort of behavior by this President, because he's on "their side," not because of any conservative ideals.

YMMV.

Yes Trump policy overall has been pretty Democrat.  I don’t think you’ll find too many real conservatives in favor of many of his policies.  He pretty much was a Democrat.  Look no further than this recent drug company pricing order- there’s not a conservative thing about that.

And this is what is wrong with our discourse these days.

I dont know of a single democrat that leads with accusing the other side of the exact thing that they're guilty of having done. We see so-called "conservatives" having cheered this president and all of these actions.

Why? Because he was on "their team."

After he got buried to the tune of SIX MILLION VOTES, calling him "pretty much a Democrat" is sour grapes. You guys on the right supported this self-serving coward and his cowardly actions as POTUS all four of his failed years in office. Just man up, and wear it.

There are actual conservatives had enough integrity to put this nation ahead of "their team." YMMV.

I wonder if this guy will take his down or if he will leave it up for four more years while he waits for Trump to get another shot. I would also note that the Republican Congress is starting to get more diverse with some of the candidates they ran this time, but we will see if that trend continues, how their current policies go over with those constituents and how those policies will need to evolve to keep those constituencies. Is it just fear based like mentioning socialism in Miami Dade County or something more substantial in terms of policy?

This will be appealed.  It's part of the plan to get the issue to the US Supreme Court.  Trump said as much during the confirmation process for Justice Barrett.  But even this court is not going to reverse an election won by huge margins.  Is It?

Your speculation about the Republicans is interesting. The party will never be liberal, but they may want to evolve in some way. I believe that identifying with Trump will hurt them in the long run. They won seats in the House when their leader lost. That should tell them something.

Georgia Republicans fear a low turn out in the January election because of a loss of faith in the electoral system. Trump's ranting about a rigged system could hurt the GOP in this case and even further down the road. And it makes no sense. A Republican Secretary of State will not want to abet in the stealing of an election for a Democrat. The GOP should wake up. Trump will take their down their party down. Appealing to the crazies is not the way to go. There is another constituency out there.

I am fairly certain The Supremes want no part of these court cases. Their role is discretionary.

I agree with much of what you’re saying, especially with the numbered list from your previous post. That being said, Trump is more of a populist than a conservative and some of the things that come out of his mouth sound like something I’d expect from Bernie. For instance, when he talked about soldiers loving him but not the generals because they just care about continuing the wars and giving money to defense contractors. Take out his trademark narcissism and that is a criticism you’d find in The Nation or similar.

Conservatives used to also be for the rights of individuals and against big and intrusive government.

He is not a democrat. But he is also not a republican. Yet he has 73 million fooled.

Eh.  I think he’s way more Democrat than Republican.  He basically ran on everything the Democratic Party has stood for for a long time and won.  You’re right about millions of people being fooled into thinking otherwise 😂

He was very firmly in the Democratic camp before Barack Obama became President, even going as far as being close and personal friends of the Clintons, and raising millions for them,  But the big problem is that he is absolutely politically and morally spineless.  He is 100% willing and able to embrace anything and everything that will enrich him personally.  Dollars are his religion.  Power is his higher authority.  Yet, 73 million people believe that he cares about them.  I don't know that anyone knows what he REALLY stands for and believes in, including himself.

Building a wall? No. Tax cuts for the rich? No. He has destroyed the Republican Party. They have no idea what they stand for anymore. They have to check with him first. They did get their judges. I wonder when they realize it probably wasn’t worth it.

The guy is one big con man. He isn’t anything but a Trump. Many years from now he will be looked at as one of the biggest mistakes, if not the biggest, voters ever made.

Tax breaks for the rich, de-regulation, law and order, race baiting. These are all Republican staples. No way this guy ran as a Republican. But then again, his rally speeches never made any sense so there were times when I had no idea what his platform was. Distrust in the electoral process was one, but that was all he was clear about. His bid for re-election espoused no vision for a second term because he didn't have one. His approval ratings had been in the low to mid-forties. He did a little better at 47%, but Biden picked up 15 million more votes than Hillary. He appealed to his base only and lost. That was not surprising since his base was never in the majority in the first place. Meanwhile the GOP was left in the dust.
