I'm going to wait to see the video on this one.  I find it hard to believe that TLR refers to himself as a "Hall of Famer Baseball Person".  That sounds like something a person who never watched any sports would refer to an athlete as.  Are you one of them baseball people?

Or if he did use that phrase, he must have been ready to blow .25 .

Then TLR must always be drunk, because he always sound this arrogant.

Wondering how much of Hahn's obvious displeasure in the announcement of TLR's hiring was because he knew about this as opposed to just having his authority undermined with the decision.

All of the above.

We also need to remember the JR has made probably millions of dollars selling alcohol at Sox and Bulls games over the last 4 decades.  I'd be willing to bet at least 50 cars leaving each game have a driver in it who would easily blow > .08 .

There is a bit of hypocrisy at play here no matter what he does.

Has Bruce Levine commented on this yet?

I’m still waiting for the three headed monster of Levine, Nightengale, and Sullivan to tell us how we’re all overreacting and that this isn’t a big deal, he’s a respected guy, just misunderstood.

I've barely heard a peep from the local media likes of Levine, Garfien, etc. I listened to the radio a bit this morning and heard nothing as well.

Really?  The score has talked about this all day long

They're kind of the radio station of the competition now so not all that surprising. Good on them for talking about it.

I don't even look at it that way.  This is huge news for a Chicago team, and should not be swept under the rug

That's not what I said- my point is JR got rich in part by selling alcohol to Sox fans knowing some would hit the road drunk after the last out.  Not exactly someone who should be considered likely to be a member of MADD.  If he keeps TLR he is endorsing drunk driving to some extent, but hasn't he been doing that indirectly for years?

Remember, if you call or email, be polite, explain exactly why you're calling. The person on the other end of the phone is not responsible for this, and they will happily record your concerns. Do not be a jerk ever if you're doing this. Be willing to give your name and information, especially if you are a current customer of theirs. United, for example, should get a note from me as I fly them all the time. Also, targeting specifically the beer companies might be important as every one of them has a statement about responsible drinking on their web page.

Somebody should create a template email.  If we had a template, we could modify the pertinent personal info and pump these things out en mass

Come on man, a guy who owns a bar isn't indirectly endorsing drunk driving.  A liquor store isn't endorsing drunk driving.  This is a huge stretch

Ok, I'm now over 30 sponsors who are either official team sponsors or who had clear ads in the ballpark last year. If you do business with one of them, reach out. Be polite, the person on the other end of the email may not even know they advertise with that team, and they're unlikely to be aware of this situation, so explain the details - you are advertising with a team that is now employing a manager with 2 DUIs, including one this year that they won't comment on, and ask them if that is the type of business they want to be supporting or reflective of their corporate beliefs. Some of them easily available through social media, lots of email addresses, a good number of phone numbers and web forms you could fill out. Several beer vendors, several car companies.

They lose a couple of these, Tony LaRussa is gone. Has anyone here dealt with Mazda of Orland Park at some point? They look like a huge pressure point. Big account.

Full list is posted a couple pages ago, or available here.

This deserves its own thread, I can make a thread over on reddit if you dont mind.

Brooks has always been good at getting back to fans.  Like others have said, I feel for these other Sox employees who are now put in this situation to deal with this mess while in the meantime the guy that put them there just gets to run and hide.

This is the prime reason for my contempt with corporate America. You can't access the people in conversation that the bithcing needs to be directed to. And so the low level employees who have no say so over anything have to eat all the shit. The people who need to be eating it are laughing all the way to the bank.
