I guess we'll see.

I mean if we are out on Springer, and it looks like that is the case, of course they will sign someone else soon.

It’s gotta be Joc, right?

Hopefully they don't throw us a curve and it ends up being Adam Eaton. I mean what else could go wrong this year?

Most GM's/teams don't even know their budget yet...

Meaning nothing is getting done this week.

Can you imagine how Soxtalk would be if non of the top free agents or any of the known names are not signed until April or May? Only speculation all winter. Lol 😂

OMG, how brutal......nothing could happen all winter. We could get to SB Sunday and crickets, as the Owners/Union duke it out over money.

Then, there's either an agreement or an imposed season and everyone signs within 2 weeks.

Sounds like Joc is close and maybe a bit further away might be a Lynn or Darvish trade but those are a bit murkier.

If my beloved Sox trade our number 1 prospect--from my alma mater and favorite college program--to my least favorite team (the Cubs), I will be very sad.  But it will save me a purchase of the expensive custom Cal baseball jersey I would have gotten for his Sox debut.

Unless they're doing something crazy like a package of Darvish/Contreras/Bryant, I highly doubt any Cubs player has enough surplus value to necessitate Vaughn

Sounds like more BS from NSC. And of course a bunch of stuff already out there.

There's basically no universe where Vaughn goes to the Cubs.

He's sticking his neck out tho a bit on the FA OF issue. Its hard to say accelerated discussions on that point and then nothing happens for 3-4 days hes gonna get attacked again.

The catastrophic downside risk to my mental well-being is so great I can't help but consider it.

The clinical phrase for what you are describing is the "Jack Parkman Effect"

If we trade Vaughn or Kopech for Lynn I’ll lose it. I don’t think we will but dumber shit has happened in the past

This guy is claiming NSC has sources. Lol

Sound  like Lynn plus Gallo if they can't get Joc to sign.
