There's still no way I put any stock into that Marlins team.

I look at that team and can't believe they won more than 20 games last year LOL

It's an endless source of amusement that what was likely a 70-ish win team rode a short season to a playoff berth and completely spanked the Cubs.

So basically Realmuto is getting an extra 4.85m per year to not botch force plays at home plate.

And also to catch a MLB pitching staff.

Grandal is a hitter who puts on C equipment to make his bat play in a lineup.

Realmuto is a C first and a hitter second.

Out of all of the potential steals to be had this offseason, 5 years only and $23M AAV only for Realmuto is easily going to be the biggest steal of the offseason.

Of course SoxTalk will worship at the feet of Melky Cabrera the catcher, but we'll see how these 2 compare over the lives of their deals.

To be fair to my Cubs, Miami has five starters with an ERA+ over 124. Also, if it weren't a shortened season the Cubs would've finished 5 games out of the wildcard.
I can only imagine what wouldve happened if the Cubs had to face a Chapman-less A's offense though  😉
