His bat has been as advertised and it's still close enough to his draft year where teams would put a ton of weight onto his scouting reports. If the Sox want to trade Madrigal it won't be difficult to do.

Has he flashed any baseball instinct that he needs to make up for lack of power? Nope

At some point, we're going to have to stop saying 'he is still early in his career, he'll get more comfortable and his defense will be fine'

Eventually, you may have to accept, what you see happen time and time again, is what you're going to get.

If you think his defense is irredeemably broken based off of 33 games, sure.

Is it broken or just never that good?  His arm strength is bad and he’s not very quick  to either side.  The errors are mistakes that happen, but it’s not like he’s making a lot of incredible plays.

I mean sure but hopefully that barrier is more than the 30 games he's played...

Rodon already at 20+ pitches in the first inning and climbing.

One of his numerous issues that really hasn't changed much from the moment he was drafted.   Guess we focused on the wrong player there, Trea Turner has been much more valuable.

That said, look at what has happened with Aiken and Kolek, not to mention Schwarber.
