He may have the case pf Jon Lester throwing yips

I don't blame him there, he sucks fielding but that's just bad luck it would have taken an extraordinary effort to throw him out and even a good one probably is late.

HE GAWN!  Good job Crochet, and good job TLR.

Something seems a little off with Crochet this year. He's not getting the horizontal movement on his slider he usually does. It now looks more like a loopy curveball. I wonder if whatever he's doing is affecting his velo and control a bit as well.

Go to the video room and see if there's something up.

Velocity was up a little bit today and he’s pitched in three total games.  Did you watch him a lot in Winston Salem?  Supposedly his stuff was pretty damn good in the minors.

Ive seen somewhere his curve rated as the best in the minors for the Sox.  The change I have seen look filthy too.  But the fastball is usually pretty straight and he's struggled to command it.  In the minors he could get outs that way but not in MLB.

He has a lot of traits you look for and is still a guy I want to keep.  When a guy has potential and option years remaining you don't just dump him at low value.  But it is very clear he needs to get stronger and get a lot more reps in.  The change is new to him and really he was a multi sport athlete from a cold weather state so it might take a little while.  He's one of the Sox guys who was hurt the most missing a MiLB season last year.
