They’ve lost far too many games already that they should have won.  I’m not exaggerating when I say they should be 17-5.

Seriously, this was a game against a lousy opponent with your ace on the hill. You can’t lose these games, they’re as close to a gimme as it gets.

fuck these guys were scoring 1.6 runs per game in their last 10. Total piss poor performance tonight.

Here is the thing....TLR didn't lose this game for the Sox. They didn't execute. That's on them.

A manager has a limited impact on the game. Tonight.........we saw the type of impact a manager can have. Decisions like having Hamilton bat with runners on in a 5-2 game. Not knowing when your ace needs to be lifted......that's unacceptable when quite frankly a baseball manager isn't responsible for much.

It was both of them tonight. Players didn’t execute and poor managerial decisions against a team begging you to pound them

It was bad enough he let Giolito start the 7th, but then allowing him to continue after the lead off walk was terrible. To let him stay in after they tied the game was just ridiculous.  But to leave him in after the homer and then a deep fly out was about the craziest thing you will see a manager do.  There was no excuse for what we saw that inning.

Wat Sox were off yesterday so they were rusty. Gotta give them a game to work the kinks out

Giolito’s agent is probably scared to death how much Tony is going to cost his client down the road.

This was the managerial equivalent of Kevin Love last night...except the worst part is it wasn't intentional at all, in terms of sabotaging his own team.   In Love's defense, they were in the process of losing 8 out of 10, at least.

Ozzie calling the Chicago press weak for not asking tougher questions to TLR

Way too insular media market...compared to NY, Philly, Boston, even LA/SoCal.

Even the Indians' and Twins' beat guys know how to ask probing questions without being insulting.

Guess we aren't allowed to second-guess a HoFer if we're in the media corps.

Would have loved to see Ozzies energy managing this team.

To go along with TA, Hermin and Hendriks, that would be a whole lot of fun...versus whatever this is right now.  Feels like after-school detention supervised by a teacher who's only holding to maximize their pension benefit or retire and double-dip, lol.

Ozzie is literally the perfect manager for this team

Agreed!

The energy he brought alone combined with the young guys would have been fun.

He actually gave the pitchers life when he went to the bump not just *mumble mumble mumble* Sometimes I swear TLR goes out there and says nothing when he takes the ball 😂.

larussa sucks... but this was far and away the most angering loss of the season.

What a shit hole lackluster performance top to bottom.. they commit 5 errors and we have one of our best pitches on the hill..

yet double play after double play and shitty.. lack of concentration AB after Ab.

Just a straight bullshit performance tonight...

Stuff happens. Sox had a lousy game offensively and Tigers were due after losing 4 in a row to KC. Inexcusable to take divisional teams lightly.

It'd be nice to beat all bad teams at home, but games like this will happen. If Sox lose to Detroit again tomorrow I hope Tony does remind the guys there is a totally unbalanced schedule and Sox simply have to dominate weaker teams in their own division. I know it's hard to get up for Detroit, et. all, but cmon, play better when the opponent commits five errors.

Stuff happens though and tonight was just one of those lousy games. Too many games like tonight and Sox won't be going to the playoffs. Sox can afford to have a few stinkers.

c'mon just give it up. Neither Ozzie nor TLR should be coaching. That's why they haven't had a job in at least 8 years. Give it up

Nope no overreaction, Sox completely shit their pants with their ace on the mound, facing one of the worst teams in baseball who had 5 errors in 5 innings

So we're talking bad defense and management?
