They're idiots. A smart FO would totally punt this season.

What you really mean is if they thought like you it would make them smart like you and you can't even force yourself away from this board. It's not like this board is heroin . Didn't you say the exact same thing after the Robert injury ? Haven't you admitted on numerous occasions your thought processes do not function as you would like  ? Take a break for your own sanity's sake.

Lol this is the most caufield post I've ever seen.

Losing 10 fWAR is less bad than losing 5.

Can anyone on this site actually (and carefully) read a freaking post without an immediate hot take?

“TO CLEVELAND...”

The White Sox have $80 million more in their budget and the ability to absorb $10-20 million more with full/er crowds expected.

For those panicking, we survived just fine without them.  Not a juggernaut, but one of the better teams in the AL.

By the way, it’s comical you’re already projecting Robert at 7-8 fWAR when Jimenez has never put up 2 in LF.   Don’t think there’s much certainty about that, other than the 2.5ish to 3 floor based on defense alone.

How are the Indians going to replace Reyes’ at bats, with Chang and Bauers?

$50 million budget/payroll, lowest in majors....better off auctioning Civale, Bieber and Jose Ramirez between now and next OD.  They’ve only done that 4-5 times now since the early 90’s, after all.

I'm giving 4-3-3ish. You want to say 9 fwar ok.

In other words, Cleveland’s personnel losses are affecting them more adversely than the White Sox ones.

The Indians have no way to add on payroll.  We have, well, JR.  There’s always a Manny Ramirez or Youkilis or Rollins, etc., available for just the additional payroll assumption.   See Rios/Alex.

We haven’t lost 3, it’s 1.5...for Madrigal.

Same with Robert (will play at least two months).  So 2/3rd’s of a season of missing fWAR.

Bottom line, ONCE AGAIN, Cleveland’s only recourse is their minor league system.  They don’t have our media rights deal guaranteeing XXX amount per game or expected attendance bounces to count on to generate revenue.

When the Dodgers lost May, Bellinger, Seager...they didn’t even blink.

That’s with three of the best five teams in baseball in their division.

The Indians are somewhere between 12-15, arguably.

We are the Dodgers or Yankees in our division compared to the Indians and Royals.

It’s not the Sox problem with the lack of resources the Tribe have.

The real bottom line is that Eloy/Luis/Nick impact the game way more.

Luplow was hitting .173 just because he raked against the Sox doesn’t make him a good player.

As for Bauers the tribe traded him the other day to Seattle.

I am pretty sure they lost like 14/18 or something like that.  They blinked a lot actually

I have it on good non-Sox medical authority that he’s done for the year. We need to make a move. Maybe not a star but at least some more depth and someone better than Mendick/Garcia.

Plug that hole and hope like hell Eloy and Robert are back early.

Defeated my entire argument. I'm gonna go hide behind a tree for a while.

I forgot how shitty trade packages for vets have become.

It is pretty crazy how the Yankees got Gleyber Torres for half a season of Chapman. You never see that now a days, and that wasn't too long ago.

Because Grandal hitting in the 150's or 160's makes him a BAD player, lol.

After Reyes, he was their second most important impactful outfielder the first two months.  Now we suddenly measure players by batting average, lol?   Of course, they also have Rosario (who has sucked ass the first two months), Naylor and Harold Ramirez, but none of those guys are world beaters.

It's guaranteed if you take one of the Sox Top 3 starters (in this case, Plesac for CLE) out, it's going to have a LOT more impact than substituting Garcia/Mendick for Madrigal.
