You're thinking like a fan, not a GM.

Selling would be a ruthless thing to do, but one that smart front offices like the Rays don't think twice about.

Your thinking like a GM? Look at the place the Rays are in right now. Why aren't they selling? They are in a complete slide.

Ruthless must be code for dumb. How far of a sell are you going with? Just with Lynn and Rodon? What are you getting? Your selling them at probably their lowest valued point. What's your goal for next year? If winning who are you replacing the pieces with? If your going for a soft rebuild how do you coincide that with apparently your complete failure in this phase of the rebuild?

So many questions and probably some short sighted answers.

i mean it was dumb to run collins...

but if you were looking for collins to save the day - that in and of itself is comedy.. what he like 620 ops? lol

Collins had a better chance than Mercedes against the righty reliever.

Get what you can for Lynn and Rodon, go shore up the weak spots, spend in the offseason and go get 'em in 2022.

The window hasn't opened yet because of the injuries this year.

This is an entirely situational sell. They lost their two best hitters for the majority of the season. No soft rebuild or anything, just packing up and going and getting them next year.

Wait wait wait. Your plan requires spending in 2022???? You were just crying about Jerry being the main problem. Can you get a consistent plan going here.

So essentially you have no plan for winning. Your plan takes us out of contention this year and requires according to you probably a futile attempt to spend to recover.

They have to do that anyway if they want to win in 2022. Remember Lynn and Rodon are free agents that need to be replaced.

They're gone anyway after this year.

I'm more concerned about getting Kopech and Crochet their innings at this point so they can start ASAP.

If Kopech can't start or is on an innings limit in 2022 that's a huge blow.

They don't need to be replaced. All your plan did was just make it much much harder to accomplish what we want to accomplish next year with very little gain. What is the point of doing that? You didn't get any pieces worth a damn probably. You waived the white flag for the sake of waiving the white flag.

I got a better plan ready for it? if you don't trust Jerry to spend tear the entire thing down again. Rebuild from the ground up depth wise. Trade everyone and start over. You won't be relying on his lack of spending then. Everyone will be on long term deals again. Until they aren't.

If they don't win in 2022 then it's probably a failed rebuild at that point.

OK, Hendriks has not blown saves, just leads.

Blown Save (BS)

Definition

A blown save occurs when a relief pitcher enters a game in a save situation, but allows the tying run to score. The run does not have to be charged to that pitcher. If a reliever enters with a man already on third base, and he allows that runner to score the tying run, he is charged with a blown save.

For his part, Hendriks has a unique way of staying positive and getting his mind right when he has encountered struggles. He has a tarot card reader, Ruby, share interpretations and wisdom for him, and he had such a discussion in the wake of his blown save Sunday
