Costner's been doing interviews with Bob Costas there that were on MLB Network this morning. I'm pretty sure he will be there.

Nice of him to take time away from his beach front mansion on the Santa Barbara coast to participate.

As I start reading a few articles I'm getting excited for the game. Which is odd because I didn't really like the movie and dislike one off gimmicky stuff during the season.

To some like me it's a great movie. Those that think as i do that probably played a lot of catch growing up with their fathers and appreciate the history of the game. Then throw in the times of your life that you grew up started doing your own thing and fought with your old man about your long hair or staying out too late or generally being a pain in the ass to your parents.

My Dad is 87 now and has been in and out of ICU's for the past month and is nearing the end of his days. The movie represents when he was pretty young and vibrant and our common love of baseball and the White Sox. It hits me smack dab in the middle of my heart.

Did you live my life?

Sorry to hear that Ron… but happy he lived a long life with a good son by his side.

The interviews were pretty cool. He told a story about a group of Dads and he pointed to one and they started playing catch on the field. He said after about 10 throws the guy just stopped and let another guy play catch with Costner and he said he ended up playing catch with about another 30 guys.

He seems to be a very good guy. I’ve known his wardrobe specialist who worked with him in all of his moves for the past 30 years for my entire life…

She said nothing but praise for the guy.

I’m just envious of his house… that’s all.

Is this played on the actual field from the movie?  Obviously updated and such. I always assumed it was

It's not the actual baseball field used in the movie, but it's on the same property.  I believe the farmhouse and farm are straight past right field

Hey man, I have a perfectly good relationship with my dad and still think the movie is a cheesefest

Assuming Cole and Montgomery can't come back by Thursday from the COVID list, this game is going to be started by Andrew Heaney for the Yankees.

Would be awesome.  I know we'll likely face him regardless - and actually since the sticky stuff he's been touched up a bit - but that said, I'd much rather have the Sox mashing Heaney on national TV.

I wonder what the ratings will be ... I'd go as far as to say they might be higher than a ALCS or NLCS game. Hard to tell since I'm a Sox fan and super excited for this. Can't tell if anybody else cares in the slightest.
