You'll never get a more obvious splitter count than 1-2 vs Abreu

I don't understand why TA isn't running there

I donā€™t either. Ā Sox seem to be hit and run and base steal averse. Ā But also frequently hitting intoĀ rally killing double plays, which come hand n hand.

So stupid not to have Timmy steal on the 1-2 or 2-2.Ā

He rightfully gets praised (imo) for being an intelligent hitter, so he should have been smart enough to know Jose would be getting spammed with splitters and ran on one of those pitches anyways

They have to try different things to manufacture runs.Ā  Even bunt perhaps - they give up outs anyways.

He didnā€™t even run on second 3-2 count to Abreu. Ā Hit and run and stealĀ attempts also open holes in the infield as well as avoiding double plays. Ā Anderson should be running every time he is at first.

On one hand, Keuchel is bad and the Sox have one (probably 2) better options than him as a #5.

On the other hand, he's usually fine going twice through a lineup and expecting him or most #5s to go 3 times through a lineup is an indictment on the manager as much as anything else. Especially with a bullpen that can cover for him.
