Wonder what if any impact that contract will have as far as trading Kimbrel is concerned.

Can’t hurt, as Angels was a team I wanted nothing to do with in a trade. Lot less risk for getting Kimbrel for only one year.

This is good - sets a market for closers and quite frankly shows why a team would value Kimbrel at 1 YR vs. going 4 yrs on Iglesias, who is very good.  Fact Angels got him and were never a perfect match, further validates the fact that the club will get something decent for Craig.

Alex Cobb is a starting pitching. Lol you say some of the weirdest things.

13.7 fWAR / 9 years.

He's not even Zach Eflin.  His salary is so low I just assumed he was a reliever, but he's the quintessential back-end of the rotation guy.

Which means he automatically will end up being in the 2.5-3.5 fWAR range for the Giants next year.

Bleak, bleak, bleak.

He's not even the type of starter you pick up on a hunch for your fantasy/roto league team.

Respectfully disagree.  Sox won't get anything worthwhile for Kimbrel.

So this was relevant to Tepera how exactly? Or did you forget already that’s what you typed and are just stream of consciousness riffing on a post in your activity?

people are gonna trust Paxtons arm again, huh

Love seeing club options on these deals.  I've always wondered why they don't push for them on short term deals.  If you are going to bet on a guy, and give him opportunity, make sure it pays off if you are correct.

What more would it have cost the Sox to have a club option at about 6-8 million on Los for this season?  An extra million guaranteed?  Rodon got 1/3 last year.  It could have looked like this:

'21  @ 3

'22 @ 6 ( club option with 1 million dollar buyout)

'23 @ 9 (club option with 1 million dollar buyout)
