Pretty sure one of the blue checkmark reporters tweeted essentially that teams can still talk trade after Dec 1, which was why FA was getting more attention.

Maybe that’s why the Sox aren’t active right now. Maybe they strongly feel that their actual targets aren’t going to be signed today so they are just concentrating on trying to unload Kimbrel first and than go after their targets in FA?

While player movement would halt during a lockout, management positions are still in play

Don’t look for the Mets or Athletics to get serious about their managerial searches until the expected start of the lockout. At that point, player movement will halt, but teams still will be free to hire for management positions, including managers and coaches.

I think health is tough to judge. Covid issues aside, every team seems to have players on the IL for extended periods. We know  the White Sox were really hit hard w Eloy Grandal and Robert. Then you see in the Playoffs where  teams had  pitchers just returning from stints on the IL or out for the playoff and constant juggling of rotations. The Braves outfield woes and the mini-rebuild they were forced to do. Yankees had a string of injury issues all year.  We saw big name pitchers like Verlander, Sale and Scherzer all prevented from being effective in the Playoffs.

Dr Andrews probably has statues of Tommy John outside his facilities in Birmingham and Pensacola.

The Rodon injury was pretty damaging because he and Lynn basically carried the rotation for 2/3 of the season.   Rodon was easily a Cy Young candidate until he got hurt.

Agree and we also don't take into consideration injuries that guys play through but which affects their performance. My point is we as fans complain about who we have out  but forget our opponents may have just as many injuries.

Rotation:
Giolito, Lynn, Cease, Rodon, Kopech

Line-up:
SS - Anderson
CF - Robert
1B - Abreu
3B - Moncada
C - Grandal
DH - Eloy
RF - Conforto
LF - Vaughn
2B - Segura

Sounds good to me but Eloy and Vaughn will most likely swap .
