Having genuine interest in Ray but not offering Rodon the QO would lead me to believe they really think Carlos is cooked

I like that they’re being aggressive but they seem to lack creativity. Always going after recent performance (paying top $ for recent success ) isn’t always the formula to win.

Yup, I still don’t think Bob is leaking the right names though.  But at least Hahn read through the Graveman thread and was like “I guess I better have Bob leak some plans to shut those whiney fucks up”.

A frontline starter like Robbie Ray would be very welcome.  Can we get an actual mention of Sox interest *in* Ray there Bob?

We like Robbie Ray and a 2B like Semien. I like millions of dollars and hot actresses.

Bob isn't linking them to Seager or Correa. Ray and Semien both have enough flaws where it keeps them (possibly) within what JR is willing to spend.

Right? It’s such an oddly worded tweet, even for Bob’s standards.

Yes, and the pants have their own dedicated twitter account.

This makes me think their real target is Scherzer

FWIW, I saw there’s mutual interest with the Cardinals and Max

No, no and no.

The only way this makes any sense is if you're 100% convinced his changes in one season from an erratic AZ career to TOR and top of rotation are sustainable.

He used to struggle to get through 5 innings because of high pitch counts and elevated BB/K rates.

He was like the mirror of a three outcome hitter on the pitching side. Much like Rodon before last year, incredibly frustrating to watch. The potential and stuff was always there, though.

Agreed. Feels like a move to push another target.

Yes or just simply need more certainty in a championship window.  They want a championship

If the name is out there, it probably won't happen.  Seems like if it is going to happen, we find out about it when it is done.
