RIP Pete Ward

Looking at his pitching stats and hitting stats I’m guessing that in 1964 he should have been in the running for either CY or overall league MVP

Ken Berry wore a turtleneck under his jersey; all defense not much bat. ... Ward had a great batting stance kids imitated. Lefty hitter; blew into his hands. Had some power for a little guy in a day and age pitching dominated. Pete Ward was a southside fave at 3B
