oldsox 407 Posted May 7 The boys at PTI took a good shot at Reds yesterday, particularly the owner. They traded/let go lots of good players, had lots of injuries, and are fielding essentially a minor league team. Then, the owner says he can make money by moving. Manfredo needs to slap the shit out of the owner.

Looks like Kelenic might have staved off a demotion to AAA for now. Seems JP Crawford might be ouchy, so Dylan Moore is currently needed "more" at SS. Pretty sure the husband isn't getting much action this week... Edited May 9 by caulfield12

caulfield12 3,729 Posted May 11 "Rays: Their pitching injuries haven’t slowed them down This might not be that surprising for anyone who’s followed Tampa Bay and its seemingly inexhaustible supply of pitching over the past few years, but it’s still stunning. Consider the injured arms the Rays have been without -- the list includes 2021 ace Tyler Glasnow, top prospect Shane Baz, young starter Luis Patiño, lefty Ryan Yarbrough (who returned last week after missing 23 games), depth starters Yonny Chirinos and Brendan McKay and high-leverage relievers Nick Anderson, Pete Fairbanks and JT Chargois. That’s basically a full rotation and the back end of a strong bullpen missing from Tampa Bay’s roster, yet the Rays ended the weekend with a 3.25 ERA that ranked seventh in the Majors and fourth in the AL." -- Adam Berry mlb.com
maxjusttyped 2,076 Posted May 11 Anthony Rendon just hit a HR batting left-handed and Reid Detmers is 2 outs away from a no-hitter. Baseball is so damn fun, man.

caulfield12 3,729 Posted May 11 Best under the radar offseason moves https://www.mlb.com/news/under-the-radar-2022-offseason-trades-and-signings Many familiar names, starting with Eduardo Escobar and his not so obvious contributions to the Mets. Also, Michael Wacha and Heaney probably belong here but injured.

chitownsportsfan 4,657 Posted Thursday at 11:41 PM kinda buried the lede there: In the history of MLB, there has been only one recorded instance of an on-field lightning strike, and it was more than a century ago.
