How Concerned Should We Be?

This is in another thread, but also relevant.

This is basically a shotgun blast. There’s almost zero correlation here? If anything, eyeballing it you might say the relationship is inverse based on this plot, lots of barrels equals low BABIP, but that’s a stretch too. This argues that lots of barrels does not relate to extra hits.

As Jose Abreu goes, this team goes.

And that's not a good thing right now.

Maybe we should have paid a little bit more attention to his ST comments about his future.  He's performing like someone that has either mailed it in or the age has caught up to him.

I don't see another leader on this team,

He's a notoriously slow starter.  He'll be fine.

Idk, but right now it feels like they're about to have the season the Padres had last year.

18 games over .500 in mid August?  The White Sox would be running away with the division.

That was a total collapse. This is more of a malaise/apathy/hubris/self-induced one.

Then you should tell ESPN because either they miscounted or the white Sox actually were charged with 12 errors yesterday.

Royals made their first error today...then it was later changed to a hit.

Twins' announcers were poking fun how a ball that Benintendi clearly dropped in foul territory the day before was a non-error as well.

Home score keepers.

Another one for this thread, White Sox now leading the league in errors.

We knew the Sox would stink on defense. Not a good thing with a modern day pitching staff in which a rare LONG start will be 5 2/3 innings.

The Indians/Twins/Tigers...pick two of three...will both go for 105+ wins?

No, but it doesn't matter.

Everything could be fine and dandy in 4 weeks, but the vibe given off is one of a team about to massively disappoint. There's an aura of complacency and indifference. They think they're just going to coast to the playoffs.
