How does your philosophy any to bench players? If they get stale and don't have any consistency, will they ever perform well?

Haseley will not be on this roster tomorrow. Why is it a problem if he doesn’t have consistent at bats?

We can all sit and type clever shit all day long, but it boils down to this: this is unacceptable. I don't care if Garcia goes 3-4 today. He is absolutely not putting the team in the best position to win. I never would've thought it would come to this. I'm almost disgusted. He's going to pull this shit in a playoff game too

Tony, once again, putting his ego above the team.  He's an incorrigible old fuck that cares more about being proven "right" about illogical decisions than just going out and doing the job of manager.  What could possibly be so difficult about putting together a lineup and sticking with it outside of the occasional shuffle to account for SP handedness, injuries, or starters just needing a break?  Winning managers don't pull this shit.

And I refuse to believe that this won't inevitably lead to him losing this team.  These guys are professionals, work hard to win games, and have waited a long time to compete for a ring.  You think they're happy with this b.s.?  You think these lineups make sense to them?  How do you think Engel and Vaughn feel about playing for this numbskull?  How about uber-competitive guys like TA or Lucas?  Who, outside of Jose, has the clout in that clubhouse to put Tony on the spot and call him out for this stupidity?  Is Rick fearful of losing his job if he challenges Tony?

This is all such a clusterfuck and it's all because of our dumbass owner.

Are you joking?

Heseley will likely not even be in baseball in like a month.

Vaughn is a kid who doesn't need a day off after a double header and two days off. I used to play 100+ games a summer in travel ball with double and triple headers on the weekends all the time. These are grown men. There's no reason that the reserves should play as often as they do these days.

The Sox consider themselves a championship caliber team. But... would a championship caliber team bat Garcia 3rd two games in a row before clinching the 1 seed? Would the Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Rays, Astros, and Giants do this? If they wouldn't then we shouldn't.

I agree with your point, but the Astros actually did bat Niko Goodrum (utility player whose bat is worse than Leury's) 3rd in a game earlier this year. TLR and Dusty are the only 2 managers in baseball that would do something like this. There is a reason both of those guys should have stopped managing a decade plus ago, with all due respect to both of them.

Like, Tony remembers Leury is a bench player, right?  Why is he so concerned about getting a utility man "hot"?  What other manager in MLB does this?

Tony has stated that Leury is a starting player lol so the answer is no, he doesn't remember he is a bench player.

Your point is moot because Tony doesn't believe Leury is a utility player. He thinks he's a starter, and managers try to get starters hot

Embarrassing franchise. Rush the player to the big leagues and then bench him

Tony told us Vaughn would not be a platoon guy, but it's quite obvious that he's a platoon guy with everyone healthy. If he can't get in the lineup everyday with Haseley and Leury and etc starting, then how can he with Pollock and Yoan back?

Leury has 2 fucking hits on the season. He's got more errors than hits and he's hitting fucking third. It's so absurd.

He was really running the bases though. He's short enough, Tony should let him run the bases with the kids in the stands after Sunday home games since he doesn't have much of an opportunity to run them racking of 0 fors.

Yeah the only time he really is in the lineup against righties is when the bench is short and guys are dealing with minor injury issues.
