The fact that Jerry continues to trot Sleepy Tony La Russa out there is beyond astounding

What was more astounding was the hire in the first place.  Otherwise, JR likes to keep people like Ventura and LaRussa even when it's obvious things are not working.  Meanwhile, the situation gets more and more embarrassing.

Has there ever been a more obvious situation where a manager/head coach needs to be replaced?

It's so maddening.  Why can't we just have a "normal" manager?  Any manager hired through a normal process would be on the chopping block right now.  Why do we have to have this weirdo nepotism experiment?

I was watching the 1988 world series on ESPN2 last night as a tribute to Vin Scully.

Dave Parker, who was well past his prime, was batting 4th between Canseco and McGuire because he was left handed.

Tim Belcher was wild as hell and hit Canseco in the 1st inning...Steve Sax was drilled, almost in the head, on the first pitch in the bottom of the 1st.

Good ole Tony has never changed.
