Give it 2 weeks

Without a doubt

Ha, I have no doubt.  We won’t see Yaz for a week+ and then they will IL him retroactively because this team can’t do anything normally.

Amazing they kept Yermin on the 40 man for a whole year after he got demoted with absolutely zero intent of bringing him back to Chicago.

Probably have him listed as the next up 2nd base ahead of Yolbert.

Didn't Banks start a game for Charlotte like 2 days ago?!

Only went 2 innings, but yes. He started Friday. This is how brutally weak and shallow the Sox RP depth is.

How do you know there was zero intent?

My hunch was Bummer was day to day but just couldn't get over the hump.

I think he was outrighted in the spring.

Lol, thanks. I hope 40 man concerns haven't influenced a single move but for some reason I feel they have.

I don't get that at all. With the rumors about his Baltimore tenure he was untradeable and the Sox certainly had no intention of bringing him up.

I hope Yermin gets another opportunity to prove himself somewhere else. He was never the same after TLR threw him under the bus. I wish him nothing but success.

So Bummer also wasn't available yesterday?

I guess now we know why the parade of shit pitchers was deployed.

Tony wanted to put in Josh Hader but he wasn't on the team.  Breaking news:  It's not Tony, it's the bullpen.

IIRC, that cheap HR was his first in a month, so he wasn't the same long before Tony called him out.

yermin is part and parcel of everything wrong with this stupid stubborn franchise. to demote the guy and then just have him on the 40 man when you're dropping guys like Gonzalez, COME ON. That said, Yermin can go fuck himself too. Guy is a known team cancer.

At least Yermin had his proverbial 15 minutes of fame! Ha Ha!

Strange though they waited this long and wasted a AAA roster spot on Yermin.

Once again it shows us, there are serious flaws in the managers, coaches and front office regarding the player selections and development of our entire minor league system!

Nobody noticed until now that he was on the 40?

So--Grandal, Anderson, Moncada, Eloy, Robert, Vaughn, Pollock, Engel, Leury, Giolito, Lynn have all been IL'd so far. Basically everyone who is supposed to contribute on a regular basis has been hurt, some multiple times, and it continues to happen, except for Abreu who is just a machine. Are other teams having this problem?

He's been mentioned on this board as the next man to go on the 40 like every time it's brought up. People have been bitching about him still being on the 40 for awhile now. And yes we know the team had no intent on bringing him up ever again, he was done in the orgs eyes long ago, it's plainly obvious to anyone paying attention.

For the Tigers: Baez, Grossman, Candelario, Victor Reyes (backup of), Austin Meadows, Casey Mize, Michael Pineda, Eduardo Rodriguez, Matt Manning, Andrew Chafin (reliever), Kyle Funkhauser (reliever), Riley Greene (#5 overall pick in ‘19), Spencer Turnbill (TJS).

For the Twins; 9 guys have had COVID (Correa, Kepler, Pagan, Megill, Thielbar, Celestine, Ryan, Arraez, Bundy.)

Their injury list then includes Correa, Gray, Sano, Garlick, Ober, Lewis (for the year), Coulombe, Shastack, Paddack, Larnach, Romero, Kirlikoff, alcala, Dobnak, Maeda (TJS).

They have had 24 names on the iL so far this year. For the White Sox, Kopech will be their 16th. 19 for the Tigers.

Yikes. So...maybe this is a baseball conditioning problem...

The Mets have fewer guys on the IL but they’ve been gone weeks and look at the money - Scherzer, DeGrom (hasn’t pitched yet), McCann, Walker, May. They have had 13 guys on the IL but the most money on the IL - 50% more money on the IL than the White Sox.

The Dodgers 15 guys including: Buehrle, Pillar, Muncy, Kahnle (TJS), Kershaw, Price (3 weeks of COVID), Treinen, Duffy, Heaney, and a elbow/TJS crew of Dustin May, Victor Gonzalez, Caleb Ferguson, and Jimmy Nelson. The one game the White Sox won in their series with the Dodgers was Kershaw’s turn in the rotation. Oh and they also spent like $40 million on Bauer.

If your plan for the season included being vastly more healthy than the white Sox currently are, then you have a plan that will fail 95% of the time.

Shortening spring training was an incredibly stupid idea.

By the way…

If Bummer was on the IL and Banks was up, he could have come into the 10th on Saturday, and just doing the best he could would probably have had a better chance of winning that game than Foster and Ruiz both pitching their 3rd games in 4 days.

Foster and Ruiz going for the 4th time in 5 days again got shelled in extra innings today. If Banks was available yesterday just as a sacrifice, those guys would have been notably more rested and maybe give us a chance in the 11th and 12th today.

Thats 2 straight losses where this “he’s hurt but not on the IL” lunacy was a solid factor. Nice work to whoever thinks that is a funny game!
