Gallo is much better defensively than Pollock and like 6 years younger. I'd love to buy low on Gallo because he would check off several different boxes for what this team needs, but I can't see the Yankees going for it unless the Sox add a 2nd piece that's pretty good.

Gallo is such a bad hitter his defense can't even get him into positive WAR territory. I wanted him a couple years ago but not now. Gallo is a free agent next year. I wouldn't give up anything for him.

It depends if you think Gallo is actually a bad hitter or just in a really bad slump for whatever reason. Projection systems view Gallo & Pollock similarly as hitters, but I would rather bet on Gallo because most 28 year olds with a track record of good production don't usually fall of a cliff. My guess is that if the Sox acquired him, he would hit well, but who knows.

Signing an injured Joe Kelly will never, ever make sense to me

Rick Hahn coming out of the lockout: “We need to add pitching depth”.

Goes out and signs a lottery ticket in VV (despite no off-season to work on things) and adds an expensive reliever in Kelly who was going to miss at least four weeks.

Absolutely mind boggling execution plan there.
