Don't quote me on this being accurate. That's pretty wild though. All hail Ricky Renteria!

This is accurate

Ricky had the balls to instruct and when necessary, pull his players, pull stars when necessary to impart a lesson. He wasn't trying to be their Great-Great Grandfather.

Ricky got upset when players made correctable mistakes. Tony gets upset for unwritten rules, bat flips and bean ball war bullshit.

“These kids are growing up and the reality is, we want our veteran players, and they do, talk to the players. But there are moments when the manager has to take control of a particular situation,” Renteria said. “That was mine. And so when you see me get upset like that it’s because it’s something that we preach and talk about all the time. We don’t give in.

This is at least the fourth time Renteria has employed this strategy this season, and while it’s a strategy that most definitely counts as a teaching tool, age and experience have not been factors in his decision-making in these situations. He benched Avisail Garcia during a spring training game. Leury Garcia and Welington Castillo were benched during regular-season games.

Ricky demanded that his players always run it out and never quit. Tony demands they don't run to first base. Players didn't miss many games playing hard everyday. Then again, half the team wasn't 35 year old guys Tony could remember as it is now..

More than one time this season, he’s made a very public display of enforcing that ethos, sitting a player down for not running to first base. Tim Anderson was the latest to be on the receiving end of a mid-game benching, pulled following the sixth inning of Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the visiting Kansas City Royals.

I'm sure that not going 100% unless you don't have to is either coming from the front office or training staff...but most likely they are both coordinating in order to preserve as much of the active roster as possible.

Seems to neither total opposite of old school baseball TLR is supposedly associated with.

7 more on this road trip, realistically a .500 trip would be good, the Sox just need to start winning at home.

They need to start winning within the division.
