Dallas Green, lead singer of alexisonfire, did a solo project last year under the name "City and Colour" named "Sometimes"

Outstanding IMO if you just want to hear a guy and his acoustic guitar, that can really sing, andd hear music in its simplest form. Check it out if you get the chance.

i like alexisonfire, so i'm going to check this out. when done right acoustic songs can be so incredible.

Billy Corgan has officially confirmed that there will be both a new Smashing Pumpkins Album and tour in 2007.

Yahtzee! The one band I should have seen in the late 90s but never got the chance to...

No word yet on who other than Billy and Jimmy Chamberlain will actually be playing with the band. But Hell, on a ton of Pumpkins stuff, those are the only 2 guys you hear anyway, because Corgan would re-record everyone else's stuff.

That Pumpkins lineup is one member shy of being the alt-rock equivalent of "Lonesome Dave's Foghat".

No James + no D'arcy = no Pumpkins.

How about they call themselves Corgalain?

Or Jimbilly?

:D

In similar news, rumors have it The Police plan a reunion tour. Stewart Copeland is probably my favorite drummer and The Police might be my favorite 3 piece ever. I'm GEEKED!!

I'll be surprised if it gets off the ground.

They've had feelers out before for a reunion and passed on it.

They can't be together for very long before they start hating each other again. I'm not sure what the bad blood is about, but it's weird to me that guys who have traveled the world together, realized a shared dream and made each other a lot of money in the process, could end up hating each other like they do.

The rumor started when their label said they were "planning something special" for the 30 year anniversary of their 1st record. Maybe :pray they can bury the hate and hit the road in 08.

Their first few records are classics.

I like the Pumpkins' first two records. Then fame and fortune took over and 'THE BILLY CORGAN EXPERIENCE' put out like 17 records in the next 4 years....most of which was garbage.

I'm in a definate minority here I'm sure, but right now I can't get enough of "A Beautiful Lie" by 30 Seconds to Mars. The track "From Yesterday" had me hooked from day one, before it hit the airwaves. I think the Leto brothers, and their pals made a great disc last year, one I listen to alot.

They are god awful live, but the album is very good, imo.

i liked the first four. Siamese dream is real good.

I think I am one of the few that really likes both Machina albums. I like how The Corgan Experience™ did something different in each album, and drifted into a more electronic sound. And he really knows how to build an album. The only problem I have with Corgan is his arrogance, but most of it is due to his talent with music. I think the reformation of the Pumpkins will be fun, but I doubt it will last too long. Kind of like when Janes Addiction reformed then broke up after making an album.

I'm in the group that liked the Machina albus also. Hell, I fully enjoyed the Zwan album as well.

i didn't like zwan but i'm willing to believe credible sources that said the album didn't do the live shows justice.

I'll agree with those sentiments. I saw them live before I really got into the CD, and...yeah...not a great live show at all.

If your woman steps out with another man (thats the breaks, thats the breaks)

And she runs off with him to Japan (thats the breaks, thats the breaks)

his rhyming scheme with man and Japan, simply genius :D .
