None of them threw this hard.  All were upper 90's...but none of them were hitting 99 or higher.

You never find guys like this.  NEVER.

Thiggy never threw 100? I swear he did, but that was a while ago....

i have a bold prediction:

while hemmy is out on the berevement list this kid jenkins will tear it up and will stay with the club as a setup man in the 8th

we will then primarly use marte/polete in the 7th, jenks wil close the 8th, and hermenson the 9th.... that leaves cotts/viz/shingto sharing time in the earlier innings

awww... pipe dream ummmm tastes good

like ice cream

ummm, key lime flavor

yes, ice cream

ummmmm, like key lime flovor

yes, ice cream...

yes, ice cream...

Cotts has been to good to use him in earlier innings

attitude? explain.

He had some "Attitude" problems in the Anaheim minors...he got in a fight on a bus, bounced around between their minor league teams, he's always been rumored to be very immature...they even did an outside-the-lines about him last year and how he could throw 100 but had attitude problems. He does have some actual emotional problems I believe...had a hard childhood, etc.

His attitude was why they left him unprotected last year. Now he's gotten married, has another year older, and he's suddenly in the big leagues and looking all right with this team.

24 years old and throws upper 90s. We use this guy the right way this year and get his feet wet during a playoff run. He could be a real nasty shut down closer that we havent had since Thiggy.

Thigpen didnt throw this hard.

I am still shocked after seeing it. HOLY s*** THAT BOY CAN THROW BEE BEES.

Maybe he can be our K-Rod?

The best thing about Jenks is that he can throw 99. We have a few guys who can top out at 95 in Count and Garcia and in the pen we have Pollitte, Marte and maybe Viz. No one is upper 90's, that could be HUGE.

Imagine Buehrle out there throwin 89,90 and then Jenks 99,100 those hitters will be so off balance! Can't wait to see what he can do.

Is this the same kid who went to a team pool party, got drunk and was harrassing the owner's daughter???

I could care less if he molested sheep and set fire to them after he performed a satanic ritual with their remains. The dude throws 99 and is filthy as all hell. Just throw it near the strikezone.

THIS DUDE IS OFFICIALLY UNTOUCHABLE. TRADE THE FREAKIN FARM AWAY BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK OF GETTING RID OF JENKS.

I don't know about all that Irish, but the kid does have the raw "stuff" that not many possess. Past skeletons in his closet will always be associated with the kid, but hopefully he has matured enough to handle the pressure in the majors, in a pennant race no less. Time will tell.

Well we give Everett, Rodman,AJ and others a break in this town. Why not the BEAST.

I don't care either, was just wondering if it was the same kid.

Let's not get carried away, I'll wait to see him a few more times.

Just wait until he gives up a couple runs.

I expect him to give up runs. His whole mission this year is to throw that exploding fastball near the plate. If they hit it good for them, if they dont good for us. This kid has the most raw talent I have seen from a reliever.

We have been suffering for years, trying to get a closer. We get one for a year, or maybe part of a season. It would be nice if this kid can become our future closer.
