From Scott Reifert's blog:

Monday, August 1, 2005, 9:30 am

Today's Lineup

Perez, LF ... Ozuna, 2B ... Everett, DH ... Konerko, 1B ... AJ, C ... Dye, RF ... Rowand, CF ... Crede, 3B ... Uribe, SS ... Buehrle, LHP.

Blum arrived on a red-eye at about 7:30 am, so will not start today.

I can see giving Gooch a day off. But why two days in a row for Scotty?

I'm not too worried about it. Just trying to give his legs a rest. He's been in a mini-SB slump of late, and we don't have many off-days in the near future. We need to keep his legs as fresh as possible, so he can do what he does best.

I see that. In the last week he had 6 CS.

We've won the first 3 games, so might as well give Pods another day off.

Those first three batters are probably going to see 6 pitches combined, though.

That's what happens when you fall asleep in the 6th inning...I was out cold. Same thing last night, I was asleep in the 8th.

These games are taking so long the 2nd half.

Rooney was talking about last night on the broadcast that the average time of games is over 3 hours since the AS break... Damn umps tightening the zone big time.

They did also mention that Pods was getting treatment during the game, as was Iguchi after his HBP. He might have a small nagging leg injury from the sounds of it.

I would suspect he may have a bit of a tweaked hammy like earlier in the year.

This is the time to rest it as we're going to need him next week at NY and at Boston.
