BobDylan
QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) Well... it certainly shouldn't include the folk icon that you use as a SN here. Have you ever heard Like a Rolling Stone? Just checking. Edited February 17, 2006 by BobDylan
BobDylan
QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) Damn shame god only knows didn't make it as it is clearly the greatest song ever people are just silly and not willing to recognise it as such. YOU CAN'T REFUSE THAT MELODY. The original All Along the Watchtower?

hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 05:48 AM) This poll proves that: #1. Some of you have no idea what "rock" is. and #2. Some of you have poor taste in music. Are we still b****ing and moaning, people? :headshake Dukenukem ain't even involved this time, but people are trying to fill his void. "Street Fighting Man" is the suck? Ooooookay. Either get your ears examined, or keep such bulls*** to yourself. This is all personal preference anyways, and it's supposed to be fun. I can't stand Rod Stewart, but was I talking s*** about The Faces? No, of course not. I'm a huge Bob Dylan fan, but do you see me uttering some elitist nonsense? Nope. hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 09:21 AM) The original All Along the Watchtower? Yeah, awesome song. "John Wesley Harding" is a masterpiece in my book. But even Dylan said that Hendrix perfected "All Along The Watchtower". IIRC, it was in a Playboy Interview. I'm not voting as my favorite, but as "rock" songs and Baba O'Reilly is a rock song, I have a problem with the Beatles choices here. And how could we not have had Stairway in the mix? Classic Rock. hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) best classic rock song? It's not even the best Stones song. I'll ask the obvious question here: Who gives a flying f***? We were asked to provide personal favorites. I like upwards of 75 Rolling Stones songs. In my experience, everyone has a different opinion as to what the best Stones song is, and I just don't have the balls to tell someone that my favorite track is the best. It's senseless, elitist horses***. But here you go. I'll nominate 35 so that everyone is happy. And then some asshole will chime in and tell me that I don't know what the f*** I'm talking about because Brown Sugar, Wild Horses, and Honky Tonk Women are nowhere to be found here: Ruby Tuesday Get Off Of My Cloud Under My Thumb 19th Nervous Breakdown Time Is On My Side The Last Time Paint It Black Mother's Little Helper Out Of Time Standing In The Shadow Flight 505 Satisfaction Mother's Little Helper Memphis Street Fighting Man Sympathy For The Devil Midnight Rambler Dead Flowers No Expectations All Down The Line Jumpin Jack Flash Can't You Hear Me Knocking? LMAO. I grew up on that band, have been following them for a long time and will til the end. They play what they play and don't give a s*** what's cool or pop or indie. The perfect mix of equal parts Cheap Trick, AC/DC and Nirvana. A two man attack that will blow most bands off the stage and was around way before The White Stripes made the two piece 'cool'. It's great to have a Chicago band with balls. We are way off topic, sorry. Edited February 17, 2006 by LosMediasBlancas
