In the 23rd round, the White Sox select John Hurd - RHP, College of Southern Idaho

COMMENT: Small frame. Lean, wiry build. Small sized RHP with live arm. Plus fastball with good movement inside. Airs it out in late relief. Needs to develop secondary pitches. Short history on the hill.

Damn right! Tell me why is this guy still available? He can play!

He was supposed to go somewhere between the 2nd and 4th rounds so my only guess is he had high contract demands.

He's a college junior so he can still play another year of school. Still, I'd take a shot at him, and offer him 5th or 6th round money. It would cost the Sox one year of some bums salary to get this guy for 5 or 6 years or however long the system works.

Glad to see we grabbed our catcher.  Has Landon Powell went yet?  Eventually the Sox should take a flyer on him.

If Powell hasnt gone yet, then we should draft him just so we'd have a chance to sign him. Though, he probably wouldnt sign.

Also, thanks for the constant updates Cerb.

In the 25th round, the White Sox select Antoin Gray - 3B, Southern University

Bio Notes: Gray hit.450 with 19 home runs as a junior. He's got a wicked right handed hack and a good glove and arm as well.

Sounds like a good pick. I think this guy dropped a lot because of his height. If he's semi mobile, it could be a theory to move him to second base and have a power hitting second baseman. Thats only if he'd have the range.

Either way sounds like a solid pick. Had good power numbers and avg and plus defense.

Info on Williamson

Williamson is a quick-armed lefty who can throw several pitches with movement and command. He currently throws mid-high-80s and has the potential for more. Could become a weekend starter quickly for most D1 schools.

In the 29th round, the White Sox select Gerardo Cabrera - CF, Miami Dade CC South

COMMENT: Body similar to Tom Goodwin. Gap to gap hitter. Soft hands. Long strides. Arm strength with carry. Can play all three outfield positions. Solid defensive outfielder with tools. Makes plays in outfield look easy. Surprising power.

I'm out after 30.

In the 30th round, the White Sox select Brandon Lowe - 1B, Vidalia HS

COMMENT: Same body type as Travis Lee. Occasionally short stroke with easy, fluid swing. Good wrists. Can drive gaps. Mostly line drive stroke right now. Ball jumps off bat at times. Some actions at 1B. Power hitter.

Was watching his video and he looks to have patience. Has an odd swing. He seems to generate good power though and good bat speed. Its funny how his foot comes forward.
